autumn/winter special.
On saturday the 4th OCT I had the opportunity to be part of the fashion event which is 'WASTED CHIC' a collective which supports upcoming designers and new fashion lines and creations!
My last blog post was about what the collaboration 'LUCELLE' and showcased our metallic clutch creations.
This particular even was held @ the Mcqueen Shore-ditch and there were 60 different labels and independent designers: Below i'm going to pick a few of my favourites to feature.
What i LOVE about these kind of events is that not only that you get to put a face to the product but you also get to spend the day around exciting people and hatch new ideas. Aswell as selling alongside designers; here is our stall:
Below I am going to feature some of my favourite designers and brands from the event.
Dark Jinx:
D Jiwany - DESIGNER |
Absolutely loved these perspex babes! I love anything shiny and anything plastic so the idea of little charms which encompassed both was too exciting. This unique accessories brand makes custom pieces as well!
Ranging from flamingoes to little black
cats and graphic triangular shards they are like little treasures. My
favourite were the little glittery mermaids. You can order online at DARK JINX
Dazzle and Jolt
Being a print designer I am drawn to ANY kind of illustration and especially colour; You can imagine my excitement when
our stall pitch was opposite DAZZLE & JOLT. Part of the designer duo; Jess is
the rainbow behind the brand itself and is the graphic designer
behind the brand. As you can see I was lucky enough to be able to try
some of the new collection on and I chose the elephant circus T which
I wore as a dress!
This new startup print wear brand
creates collections which are inspired by a multitude of themes. The
most recent collection and the one in which was being sold at the
event was the circus inspired collection 'THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH' you can see previous collections here: COLLECTIONS
MOKO WEAR an introduction:
Graphic designer and illustrator: JONNY
MOKO has created the T-shirt wear brand MOKO. A unisex brand; the
concept aims to spread positive messages through fashion garments and
focuses on making characters out of the globe I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek! JONNY is taking the
brand global very soon so stay tuned to find out more!
You can find Jonny on instagram @ MOKOWEAR
and you can SHOP online at MOKOWEAR
HERE ARE SOME MORE SNAPS FROM THE EVENT:
HEART BERET - Madame Cozier Millinery |
Sonia from TYPICAL FREAKS in vintage KTZ |
TYPICAL FREAKS
Typical freaks definitely stole my heart and vote for printspiration. A label by design duo of Sonia Xiao an London college of fashion grad and Central saint martins grad- Seun- Ade Onojobi. The AW14 collection shown below is a beautiful example of how an old technique of screen print can still be used and makes a garment personal to the wearer. Typical freaks have created a brand of womenswear which allows the woman wearing it to be playful whilst adorned in baggy and slouch silhouettes whilst still interjecting a feminine option of aesthetic with vertical stripes- echoing pleats and encompassing the female figure.
I personally absolutely love fashion for women which encourages A BOLD statement and is designed with love of colour and a huge NOD to the fact that 'girls just wanna have fun' and it is possible to be sexy and bold with colour and clash.
Images are copyright from typical freaks website and you can buy any of the following looks from their online shop: HERE
